SLS 3D printing as an additive manufacturing process continues a technical tradition that began in Saxony in 1581.

The realization of three-dimensionality began in the Renaissance with the creation of regular geometric bodies, which can be admired today in the Green Vault in Dresden at the state art collections in the Residence Castle.
