Better Basics Welcomes Spring …with Baba Marta & Martenizi

With the start of March, the first rays of sunshine and milder temperatures have arrived in Dresden – and in our office, the first signs of spring are already visible right at our desks.

One of the things we truly value at Better Basics is that we don’t just share projects, but also experiences and small stories from beyond the workplace – whether from our personal lives or our travels. This week, the team is wearing traditional Martenizi on their wrists: a Bulgarian custom associated with “Baba Marta”.

According to tradition, the red-and-white bracelets are exchanged on 1 March and in the days that follow among family, friends and colleagues. They symbolise health, happiness and success.

Traditionally, Martenizi are worn until you spot a blossoming tree, and are then tied to its first bloom. For now, a bouquet of tulips is kindly standing in.

With this in mind, we wish all our partners and customers a successful and refreshing start to spring.
