Summary of Test Results for a Robustness Test in Accordance with part 3 of the DIN EN 14175 series of standards
In reference to the standardised testing procedure in accordance with part 3 of the DIN EN 14175 series of standards, the retention capacity of a WALDNER Scala RWI-TA 1500 × 900 laboratory fume hood was examined with and without the integration of the SmartRack® and SmartFrame.
Summary of Test Results for a Robustness Test in Accordance with part 3 of the DIN EN 14175 series of standards
Test Procedure:
In reference to the standardised testing procedure in accordance with part 3 of the DIN EN 14175 series of standards, the retention capacity of a WALDNER Scala RWI-TA 1500 × 900 laboratory fume hood was examined with and without the integration of the SmartRack® and SmartFrame. Five measurement runs were carried out in each case and subsequently averaged.
Results:
- The average peak concentrations were 0.86 ppm without SmartRack® and 1.23 ppm with SmartRack® (limit value 3.25 ppm according to part 3 of the DIN EN 14175 series of standards).
- The average values were 0.14 ppm without SmartRack® and 0.18 ppm with SmartRack® (limit value 0.65 ppm according to part 3 of the DIN EN 14175 series of standards).
- Both values are therefore well below the permissible limit values.
Technical Evaluation
The minimal changes in test gas concentration caused by the SmartRack® and SmartFrame have no significant impact on the safety-relevant function of the fume hood. The extraction performance in accordance with part 3 of the DIN EN 14175 series of standards is fully maintained and remains safe.
Conclusion
Even when SmartRack® and SmartFrame are used simultaneously in a fully equipped WALDNER laboratory fume hood (including glassware and laboratory equipment), the limit values of the robustness test in accordance with part 3 of the DIN EN 14175 series of standards are complied.
The use of the SmartRack® and SmartFrame in the WALDNER Scala RWI-TA 1500 × 900 laboratory fume hood fulfils the requirements of the robustness test in accordance with part 3 of the DIN EN 14175 series of standards and does not present any significant deterioration in air technology.
